At Raising Healthy Voices, our goal is:

·         to recognize the sound of our own, internal voices

Our great challenge is:

·         to become fearless enough to trust ourselves.

Raising Healthy Voices was started in 2000 as a vehicle for workshops, seminars, retreats and keynotes designed to get people talking about what makes a human an extraordinary thing to be.  We have such power built right into us, hard-wired into our brains, waiting to be realized and used by us for our own happiness and good.

It starts with our inner voices, the voice inside each of us that knows us best and always wants the best for us.  Trusting these, we can move out into the world, ready to make our choices and decisions from strength -

free of the fear that we are not “enough” or “in control” of our lives.

These voices hold the keys that enable us to understand and be fully in charge of our lives, bringing about the results we want and need to feel empowered, confident and happy.

At Raising Healthy Voices, we understand these are mighty topics. They define us as humans, and they are operative in everything we do.  That makes every subject a good place to begin our conversations.  They are the themes of our lives, parts of every person’s experience, and everyone is welcome to participate.  By listening to the different ways each of us perceives the world around us, we all can begin to understand how our own pieces fit into the whole of our  work, lifestyles and the relationships we choose.

In our workplaces, Raising Healthy Voices represents a new paradigm for staff and managers alike.  We begin with the premise that it is not only impossible for us to leave our emotional skills behind when we go to work, it is counterintuitive.  As people, we’re meant to “see” with more than our eyes and to “hear” with more than our ears.  We need these abilities.  We need to integrate them with the skills we are taught to get our jobs done well to meet the countless challenges we face every day.  Sadly, these natural skills have been diminished and devalued, even excluded from some of our professional lives altogether.

Restoring them is freeing; it empowers us!

For many of us, this is easier said than done.  Many of our voices are covered over by the external sounds of outside messages we’ve internalized.

And, of course, as adults, we’ve developed strong inner critics,
who we’ve been led to believe
are the only ones who can lead us to the “right” decisions and choices.

In our programs, as we search for our own truths, we’re also having fun, learning that there is great joy in being humans together.  Everyone is invited (although no one is obliged) to participate in interactive exercises, and to share in conversations that are designed to overcome any lingering skepticism about the existence of our voices.

We learn to trust ourselves for the “right” answers.
